She’s my best friend. And anyone who hurt her is someone I would murder, probably.

I read today that mermaids are being predicted as one of the next fads for fantasy and YA. I thought you'd like to know xD

I have been predicting that for ages! All it needs is one solid mermaid book to reimagine the mythology. Everyone hold on and let me write it, okay?

I just feel so angry, all the time. What if after everything that I’ve been through, something’s gone wrong inside me? What if I’m becoming bad?

oh no, is that what i will be letting myself in for if i read that book? i’ve been told to start my neil gaiman education with that one… yikes… (also, excitement!)

I started my Gaiman education with American Gods (another imperfect goodie), but weirdly I have no idea what made me read Good Omens? I know it was one of the books I brought with me to Japan in 2007 (I brought a suitcase full of books), but I don’t remember what made me pick it up in the store and buy it beforehand. I had already read some Pratchett at that point, but he wasn’t my favorite like he is now, and I had already read some Gaiman and decided that I was kind of iffy on him, which I still am. Good Omens is basically a perfect book, though, because Pratchett and Gaiman are both authors who are flawed in really obvious ways, but they don’t really share flaws? (Pratchett tends to write in circles and Gaiman doesn’t really know how to end books, IMO) So writing together balances them both out perfectly. The Pratchett-Gaiman Authorbeast is a sight to behold, is what I am saying.

So… go read the book. Then come talk to me about it. You will have no regrets. :D

I have been trying to reread Good Omens for DAYS but I keep getting about three pages further in and having to close the book because I love stupid Adam and his stupid perfect child arc and his stupid perfect final scene so much and I suddenly remember that and have to just lay down and feel sad about how I will never write anything that perfect.

I will never. This is going to be the slowest reread ever.
